Lionel Messi, the GOAT, is Argentina’s captain four decades after the country won its last World Cup. Messi has previously triumphed at the Copa America and the Finalissima, bringing home the trophy both times. In addition, he came awfully close to winning the World Cup in 2014, but the title ultimately went to Germany. The legendary Lionel Messi will most likely be competing in his final World Cup event ever in Qatar, where he will be hoping to go out on top and win the competition.
Lionel Scaloni, the team’s coach, was hired as the new manager of Argentina’s national team after Jorge Sampaoli was fired following the team’s disappointing performance at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. After this, there has been a remarkable shift for the better. The revamped squad has not suffered a loss in over three years.
As the tournament comes closer, Argentina and the rest of the globe may be saying their goodbyes to one of the best players in the history of football. It has been eighteen years since Lionel Messi first appeared on the scene on a global level. In addition to having an outstanding career with his club team, he has practically accomplished everything that a footballer could want.
For almost two decades, watching Messi lead the Albiceleste has been a delight. Yet, many supporters wonder whether he will finally win the World Cup in this last dance in Qatar.
