A Summary of Arsenal’s Stellar Start.

Arsenal

As we begin November 2022, the most die-hard Premier League fan can say that they are not surprised to see Manchester City at or near the top of the table.  It’s happened so many times over the past several years that it’s become commonplace.

However, they are currently being outpaced by the stellar play of Arsenal.

Currently, Arsenal are 10-1-1 and have a goal differential.   They got off to a blazing start by winning their matches against Crystal Palace, Leicester City, and Bournemouth.  They edged out a Fulham team who is currently having a better-than-expected season in their own right.   After that, they defeated Aston Villa.

However, they would run into a Manchester United side that had found it’s form after a slow start to their season.   Manchester United beat them 3-1 at Old Trafford.

That loss could have solidified in their own minds as well as the minds of many doubters that this was the end of the line.  Some may have thought Arsenal was on a magic carpet ride that came to an end with the Manchester United loss.

As it turned out, it was a mere bump in the road.  The carpet ride would continue with wins over Brentford, Tottenham, and Liverpool.

And even after a disappointing draw against a Southampton side hovering near the treacherous relegation zone, Arsenal put a whopping on Nottingham Forest 5-0.

There’s no one man that’s responsible for the scoring output for Arsenal.   Out of the top 22 scorers in the Premier League, 5 of them are from Arsenal. The scoring is being paced by the dynamic threesome of Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli.

Gabriel Jesus has 5 goals and six assists.

The young and dynamic Bukayo Saka is a major player in Arsenal’s title hopes.  He has 5 goals and 5 assists.  If Arsenal has any hopes of a championship, Saka will be a large factor.  He will also be a sizable factor if England hopes to win the World Cup in several weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised if both fanbases were holding their collective breaths after Saka’s injury again.

So far, Gabriel Martinelli seems to be making Rio Ferdinand correct when it comes to him being like Luis Suarez.  He has five goals and two assists.

It’s no doubt that Manchester City will be nipping at Arsenal’s heels all season.  To Arsenal’s credit, they appear to have a player on their radar to help bolster their attack, even more, when the transfer window opens in January.

That player would be Orlando City forward Facundo Torres from the MLS.  The Uruguayan national had an impressive 13-goal, 10-assist season for Orlando City.

If the dynamic threesome could become a potential foursome, it could only serve to boost Arsenal’s chances of lifting the Premier League trophy.
