In their return to Champions League competition, Manchester City easily defeated FC Copenhagen by a score of 5-0. Three victories out of three for City in Champions put them at the top of Group G.
Haaland scored twice in the first half, extending his incredible goal streak, and a third goal came after a shot from Gomez was deflected by two players of Copenhagen directly into the net.
City decided to replace Haaland with Cole Palmer at halftime as they looked forward to Saturday’s matchup with Southampton for the Premier League.
In the second half, a penalty from Riyad Mahrez increased the agony of the Danes in a one-sided match.
As time wound down, Julian Alvarez scored for the first time in the Champions League to make it 5-0 thanks to some excellent play by Jack Grealish.
