After his team’s loss to Switzerland in the Nations League, Spain manager Luis Enrique has issued an appeal for calm.
In Zaragoza, Switzerland defeated Spain thanks to goals from defender Manuel Akanji and Breel Embolo.
At the Estadio La Romareda, Spain fell short despite a goal by Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba, his first for his country since 2017.
At full time, the former Barca coach declared that he is confident of obtaining the necessary win away in Portugal.
The loss puts pressure on Enrique’s players to win their last game in Portugal next Tuesday if they want to overtake their opponents for first place in Group A2.
If Spain is expecting to have any shot of advancing to the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League, they will need to get over their sad loss against Switzerland at home as soon as they possibly can.
