Nwaneri broke the record formerly held by Harvey Elliott, who made his first appearance in the Premier League for Fulham when he was 16 years and 30 days old in May 2019. Nwaneri did it at the age of 15 years and 181 days.
Despite the fact that it was just a cameo appearance for Nwaneri, Arteta indicated that there is a great deal and more to come from this exceptionally gifted youngster.
Nwaneri, who typically plays in the offensive midfield position, got off to a great start with the U-18s and was swiftly promoted to the U-21s’ Premier League 2 squad.
Due to an injury to Martin Odegaard, Nwaneri joined the squad for Sunday’s London derby against Brentford. He entered the game in place of Fabio Vieira in the last minutes of the second half.
