Messi showed again why he is one of the best football players of all time by scoring two goals and setting up two others. The way in which he linked up with Neymar and Mbappe was quite pleasing to the eye.
This brings his career total of goals/assists to 1,127, making him the player with more G+A in the history of football. Previously, this record was held by Pele with 1,126 goals/assists.
Lionel Messi has now scored 129 goals in the Champions League, 80 of which came during the group stage. This puts him ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo (73 goals) and Robert Lewandowski (61 goals), Benzema completes the list (56 goals).
A record breaker.
